Principal's Welcome

Dear Parents,

It is truly a pleasure and an honor to be asked to serve as Blandford's Interim Principal. I enjoyed my many years of leadership experience in the Rowland Unified School District, as a teacher for many years, Vice Principal at Rincon Intermediate School, as well as Principal at both Shelyn School and Killian School. To serve at Blandford is a joy.

Blandford serves about 690 students in Kindergarten through Sixth grade. Our students have diverse backgrounds. Our families come from across the globe and choose to come to Blandford because a high quality education is a priority for all of our community.

Blandford is a California Distinguished School and a National Blue Ribbon School. These awards are testament to the outstanding community we have here at Blandford. We are a "Community of Caring" school. We focus on teaching students to be outstanding citizens as well as good students. The core values of Trust, Respect, Family, Responsibility and Honesty are practiced at school and taught to the students in class.

Everyone involved at Blandford is committed to helping students be the best they can be. Parents, teachers, staff, and students all work hard to support the vision of learning.

We welcome you to contact any staff member to find out how you can be involved in our school. If you don’t have time to come to school we do have opportunities for you to help from home. The most important thing you can do is to help your own child be well prepared for school and focused on learning.

Sincerely,
Susan Halliday
Interim Principal
