Welcome New Blandford Principal Dr. Marci Chavez
Dear Blandford Bear Families and Community,
It is with great excitement and humility that I step into the role of Principal at Blandford Elementary for the 2025–2026 school year. Blandford is known for its inclusive, nurturing atmosphere and commitment to excellence, and I am honored to join a community so rich in spirit and tradition. My goal is to continue strengthening the outstanding programs already in place while exploring new opportunities that help our school community grow and flourish.
Together, we will work to cultivate a learning environment where every student feels empowered to reach their fullest potential—as curious learners and compassionate individuals. My journey in education over the past two decades has shaped who I am as both a leader and a learner. I’ve had the privilege of teaching middle school grades (6th–8th), serving as a Teacher on Special Assignment, Assistant Principal, and Principal. Each role has deepened my belief in the power of education to transform lives.
I hold a bachelor’s degree in Sociology and Educational Studies from the University of California, Santa Barbara, a master’s degree in Education and a multiple subject teaching credential from the University of Southern California, an administrative credential from Cal Poly Pomona, and a doctorate in Educational Leadership from Cal Poly Pomona. I am committed to modeling a growth mindset and lifelong learning for both students and staff.
At the core of everything I do is family. I was raised with strong values—my mother taught me the importance of making every child feel safe, supported, and loved, while my father instilled in me the belief that integrity and character are the foundations of strong relationships. As a parent of three energetic and engaged elementary-aged sons, I understand the importance of a school-home partnership and the deep trust families place in educators.
I am honored to bring these values and experiences to Blandford Elementary and am truly grateful for the opportunity to lead and serve this wonderful school. I look forward to connecting with the Blandford and Rowland Unified communities, getting to know your families, and hearing your hopes for the year ahead. I hold deep respect for the work of our parent groups and community partners, and I’m excited to build strong, lasting relationships with all of you.
Thank you for such a heartfelt welcome—I can’t wait to begin this journey with you.
Warmly,
Dr. Marci Chavez
Principal, Blandford Elementary
